About us
Welcome to Christchurch Nursery, we are a Fully Registered Private Day Care Facility for children of all abilities. Since 1991 we have been looking after your little ones with care and professionalism.
Our last Ofsted report in April 2025 rated us as “Good” showing that we are the Nursery to entrust your most precious little persons; with 32 registered places for each session, we have the staff ratio and facilities to inspire your child to take those early steps towards learning and more importantly socialising and helping your child to grow into a happy confident young person ready to go to school and take their place in society. Our staff are qualified to help children with Special Needs should this be required, but to us, all children are special and we treat them all alike.

Today is world oral health day. We role-played dentists and discussed how we brush our teeth at home. We also made our own toothbrushes, practicing our gluing and cutting skills!
Happy St Patrick's day! The children celebrated today by painting clovers, enjoying sensory rice and learning the colours of the Irish flag.
Today is world book day! The classroom is decorated with lots of books, and some of our favourites are set up and ready to read. Tiff is ready in her Thumper outfit, and I've got my gruffalo face paint on! We can't wait to see everyone's costumes 😁
Yesterday we celebrated pancake day! We role-played making pancakes and practiced flipping them in the pan, and then made and ate real pancakes. The children enjoyed trying some lemon juice on their pancakes!
At nursery we have been excited for spring, and have enjoyed activities with spring flowers! We made potions with flowers, fruits and herbs and used tulips in the playdough. We also have some lovely daffodils growing on the windowsill. Daffodils aren't taste safe, so make sure if your child still explores with their mouth that daffodils are placed out of reach!

Full time Nursery Practitioners here at the setting range from an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education to early years degrees.
Part-time Nursery Practitioners either hold or are working towards their NVQ Level 2 in Childcare.
Hi my name is Andelka and I am the director of Christchurch Nursery. I have qualified teachers status.
As the new Director of our Christchurch nursery, I am proud to bring my background as a teacher into this role and continue supporting children in a way that truly values each child as an individual. I strongly believe in a holistic approach to early years education, recognising that children learn best
when their emotional wellbeing, curiosity, creativity and confidence are nurtured together. Our nursery provides an enabling environment where children feel inspired to explore, learn and grow. Creating a safe, secure and caring culture is at the heart of everything we do. I am passionate about working closely with our dedicated team to ensure we provide the highest quality care and learning experiences for every child and family in our community. I understand the importance of partnership working with parents and professionals to child development, and the role that plays in our day to day care.
My name is Katie, I am the Manager and Designated safeguarding lead for Christ Church Nursery.
I have a level 5 Early Years Educator qualification (foundation Degree).
I started here in 2014 and I have a passion for supporting young children to reach their potential.
My name is Paul and I have a Foundation Degree.
I am the deputy manager, Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCO. I have worked in the nursery for over 30 years and love what I do.
My name is Maryna and I am NVQ Level 3 qualified. I am from Ukraine where I was a qualified teacher.
I really enjoy childcare because I get to watch our children grow in confidence and gain independence which is very rewarding.
